Weekly Business Lesson 6: There’s Something Bigger Than Yourself
As a Christian first and an entrepreneur second, this lesson is the foundation of everything I'm building. Running a business can easily become about you, your goals, reputation, and success.
But this week, I’ve been reminded of something that shifts everything:
Without the Lord, we are working in vain.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." – Psalm 127:1
At Duke Detailing, I’m not just working to build a business. I’m working to build something that brings glory to God, not just attention to me.
Every car cleaned, every client served, every long day—it's not about making my name great, it's about making His name great.
I believe that God gives us talents, visions, and opportunities on purpose—and it's up to us to steward them well.
And when He’s at the center of it all, the work becomes deeper than profit or progress—it becomes purpose.
So this week’s reminder is simple, but powerful:
-Keep God first.
-Surrender the outcome.
-Work with excellence—for His glory, not your own.
