Weekly Business Lesson #10: Cut Costs. Increase Efficiency. Serve Better.
This week I’ve been focusing on something that doesn’t always sound exciting—but makes a huge difference:
-Cost-efficiency.
As the owner of Duke Detailing, I’m constantly looking for ways to cut unnecessary costs, streamline systems, and operate as lean as possible because every dollar I waste on inefficiency, overbuying, or bad habits has to be made up somewhere.
That often means higher prices for the client.
That’s not the business I want to build.
I want to offer premium service that stays affordable. And to do that, I’ve got to be disciplined behind the scenes.
So I’ve started asking myself:
🔍 What can I automate?
🧽 Where can I buy smarter?
📦 What tools save me time without sacrificing quality?
📊 What data am I ignoring that could improve efficiency?
That quote hit me hard:
"Every dollar you spend is coming out of the customer's pocket."
It reminds me that great businesses don’t just serve well on the surface—they’re intentional behind the scenes.
And the more efficient I am, the more value I can give to the people I serve.
