Weekly Business Lesson 4: You’ve Got to Put in the Hours
Starting and growing Duke Detailing has shown me something clear:
If you want your business to work, you must outwork it first.
There’s no shortcut. No easy button. No “4-hour workweek” when you’re just getting started.
It’s early mornings.
Late nights.
Thinking about your business while driving, eating, and falling asleep.
Being creative when money’s tight.
Finding solutions when resources are limited.
Wearing all the hats—sales, marketing, admin, customer service, and technician.
Every small win is earned, and every obstacle I figure out builds the foundation for something long-term.
This is the beginning phase- where the business is always on your mind, where rest feels rare, where you’re building brick by brick. All you have to remember is:
📌 Show up.
📌 Keep problem-solving.
📌 Keep believing in what you’re building.
